Traceable Australian Ingredients

Ingredients with integrity, from land to ritual.

At V&M SPA, we believe true luxury begins with honesty. Every ingredient is traced to its origin, every supplier chosen for their respect for land and community, and every ritual designed with integrity. We don’t use an ingredient because it tells a compelling story. We use it because it performs — and because the people and places behind it share our values.

Sourcing with Respect

Everything we create is rooted in transparency and responsibility. Our ingredients are harvested by communities and growers across Australia who share our values of care, sustainability and long-term stewardship of the land.

Kunzea (Kunzea ambigua)

Grown at Bridestowe Estate, Tasmania.

Kunzea ambigua is native to the coastal regions of south-eastern Australia — and among the least familiar of our botanicals, yet one of the most distinctive. Its fragrance is unmistakably Australian: fresh, herbaceous and softly earthy, with subtle spice and gentle woody undertones that connect it immediately to the landscape it comes from. Unlike the familiar floral notes of lavender or the bright citrus found in many botanicals, Kunzea occupies its own sensory territory — one that feels authentic rather than manufactured. Within the V&M SPA Botanical Body Wash, Kunzea ambigua contributes both to how the formulation performs and to the experience of using it. Sometimes the least recognised ingredients are the most considered choice.

Tasmanian Lavender (Lavandula angustifolia)

Grown at Bridestowe Estate, Tasmania.

Both the Tasmanian Lavender essential oil and dried lavender flowers used throughout the V&M SPA collection are sourced from Bridestowe Estate in Tasmania — one of the world’s most celebrated lavender producers, internationally recognised for its expertise in cultivation and distillation. The quality of a botanical begins long before it reaches the formulation. Climate, soil, harvesting methods and careful distillation all influence the character and integrity of the finished ingredient. Tasmanian Lavender is the most versatile botanical in our collection — found in the Balancing Shampoo, Botanical Body Wash and Lavender Bath Milk, where it contributes both to how each formulation performs and to the quiet, restorative sensory experience of using it.

Kakadu Plum (Terminalia ferdinandiana)

Sourced from the Bardi People in Lombadina, Dampier Peninsula, Kimberley Region, Western Australia.

Kakadu Plum is one of the world’s most vitamin C-rich fruits — containing many times the concentration found in oranges. Harvested and used by First Nations Australians for thousands of years, its antioxidant properties have long been understood by the communities who tend the land it grows on. Our Kakadu Plum is sourced from the Bardi People in Lombadina on the Dampier Peninsula in Western Australia’s Kimberley Region — a place of extraordinary biodiversity and deep cultural significance. Within the V&M SPA collection, Kakadu Plum supports the scalp’s natural resilience against everyday environmental stress. It is found in the Hydrating Shampoo, Balancing Shampoo, Treatment Conditioner and Botanical Body Wash — chosen for what it genuinely contributes, not for the story it tells.

Clusters of glossy magenta and purple Lilly Pilly berries growing among native Australian foliage in soft natural light.

Lilly Pilly (Syzygium luehmannii)

Sourced from small local farms across northern, eastern and western Australia.

Lilly Pilly is one of Australia’s most recognisable native plants — admired in the landscape for its glossy foliage and vibrant berries. Within cosmetic formulation, it is valued for something quieter: its naturally occurring compounds that support hydration and help condition the hair with continued, consistent use. Unlike a single-use treatment, Lilly Pilly’s contribution is cumulative — working gently over time to support softness, manageability and the long-term condition of the hair. Sourced from small local farms across northern, eastern and western Australia, it is found exclusively in the V&M SPA Treatment Conditioner — chosen not for its familiar name, but for the specific and purposeful role it performs within the formulation.

Our Ingredient Partner — Native Extracts

The cellular extraction processes used to prepare many of the botanical extracts in our formulations are the proprietary technology of Native Extracts — an Australian company at the forefront of botanical extraction science.

Native Extracts’ cellular extraction method preserves the integrity and potency of each botanical from harvest through to the finished extract — honouring the natural biomatrix of each plant rather than compromising it through conventional extraction methods.

We are proud to work with Native Extracts as a formulation partner and acknowledge that their extraction technology and processes are entirely their own.
